Meet the Toons!
With the exception of Gogo Dodo, all of the characters from this show are students at Acme Looniversity, where they learn the tricks of the cartoon trade from distinguished faculty such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Elmer Fudd. Despite any similarities between the students and teachers, there are no shared familial relations.

Buster Bunny. The first member of the 'co-host' pair of the show. Bears no family relation to Babs Bunny, which is good since he has romantic intentions towards her. Likes to make mischief, always ready with a smart-alecky comment (except when he first sees Babs all dolled up for their prom). Frequently seeks to emulate his teacher, mentor, and hero, Bugs Bunny. For most of the series, the voice of Buster was provided by Charlie Adler; labour disputes towards the end of the series' run brought about the replacement of Charlie Adler by John Kassir. |

Babs Bunny; her full name is Barbara Anne Bunny, but you'd best not be calling her that. The second member of the 'co-host' pair. Bears no family relation to Buster Bunny, which is good since she has romantic intentions towards him. Comes from a real rabbit family, as in she has a multitude of siblings. She is a one-rabbit entertainment unit, always ready with an impression (complete with costume, which she changes into by twirling into a little pink tornado) and/or a song. In spite of the many character voices Babs uses in the show, only one woman provided all of these: Tress MacNeille. |

Plucky Duck. In his own words, he's "your number one quack." Plucky is a self-involved, self-serving, attention-craving, arrogant, egotistical little green duck. He also tends to treat his friends, namely Hamton, with a great deal of disdain that is just plain mean. In spite of this, we can't help but like him. Plucky's voice is brought to us by Joe Alaskey, except for episodes featuring Baby Plucky, whose voice provider remains a mystery to me. |

Hamton J. Pig. They say pigs are clean, but 'they' have yet to meet Hamton. He is Plucky's hapless sidekick, and a neat freak extraordinaire - his favorite activity is vacuuming. He also loves to eat, with his favorite sandwich being cream cheese and mayo on white with the crusts cut off. The delightful nasal (near) monotone of his speech was provided by the late Don Messick. |

This is Elmyra, the bane of fuzzy critters everywhere. She just wants to love them and hug them, and squeeze them into itty bitty pieces. Although she is fond of the bunnies, she usually ends up abusing Furrball (who is sadly missing from this page because I don't have a picture). She is also fond of Montana Max - her Monty-Wonty - but this kind of affection should not be confused with that which she shows to potential pets. Elmyra's distinctive voice is courtesy of Cree Summer. |

Montana Max - a.k.a. Monty - Acme Acres' resident spoiled rich kid. I was never too sure about this guy's M.O. - mostly he threw his considerable wealth around to show off just how wealthy he was, and usually inconvenienced the other toons somehow in the process. The inconveniencing part was never accidental either - this guy is the jerk of the neighbourhood. Is the unwilling object of Elmyra's affections. Danny Cooksey is the talent behind Monty's voice. |

Shirley the Loon is Acme Acres' resident spiritual advisor - she's able to read auras and tell fortunes. Her speech is punctuated with the phrases 'like' and 'some junk'. Although Plucky is her would-be romantic interest, she's not consistent in whether or not she returns his affections - in some episodes, they seem to have a dating-esque agreement, in others, it's all she can do to keep the relationship platonic. Her distinctive voice is brought to us by Gail Matthius. |

Meet Fifi LaFume - she's got a French accent, but she's never introduced as a foreign exchange student or any such story. Her skunky nature is not consistent - in fact, frequently she doesn't seem to emit any offensive odours. On rare occasions, we can see purple fumes wafting away from her, with unfortunate passersby collapsing where they stand. Occasionally serves as a love interest for Hamton. Her voice, complete with affected accent, is provided by Kath Soucie. |

Dizzy Devil is Acme Acres' party animal, and will crash any party he can find. He travels as a purple whirlwind, and is essentially a junior version of the Tazmanian Devil, only purple, with eyes of mismatched colour, and a yellow beanie. His grunts, yells, and various speech fragments are the work of Maurice LaMarche. |

Gogo Dodo is not actually a resident of Acme Acres, but of nearby Wackyland, along with other random unnamed characters. As the name suggests, everything is strange in Wackyland. So strange that Gogo rarely appeared on the show; to the best of my recollection, only one episode truly takes place in Wackyland, presumably because nothing there makes sense so it's pretty difficult to come up with a convincing, coherent storyline. Gogo really has more 'guest appearances' at the Looniversity. His unique voice is done by Frank Welker. |

Calamity Coyote is essentially junior Wile E. Coyote, just he's gray with a red nose and wears sneakers. The plot is the same: chase Little Beeper, buy toys and gadgets from the Acme company to assist in chasing Little Beeper, get foiled. We occasionally see him using Acme gadgets in unsuccessful attempts at other tasks. Never speaks, communicates by signs, like his predecessor. |

Little Beeper is essentially junior Roadrunner, but with sneakers and a different colouring scheme. He even sticks his tongue out and beeps in lieu of speaking like the Roadrunner. The plot is the same: get chased by Calamity Coyote, foil Calamity's attempts at capture. He occasionally appears as an express courier agent throughout Acme Acres. |

Sneezer is a cutie-pie of a mouse who just wants to make friends. Unfortunately for Sneezer, his sneeze is a brutally destructive force - blowing down buildings, stripping forests of their foliage - and his allergies are set off by the teensiest, tiniest thing. Mostly cameo appearances. Voice by Kath Soucie. |

Sweetie Pie is not a sweet as her name or appearance might imply. She is constantly under threat of being eaten by Furrball (who is sadly missing from this page because I don't have a picture), but she retaliates with a vengeance. Mostly cameo appearances. Voice by Candi Milo. |
Other noteworthy Toons, without pictures:
Fowlmouth - I suspect this was an attempt at a junior Foghorn Leghorn, but they gave him the ability to curse a blue streak! The cursing was, of course, cleaned up to be suitable for kids, so it boiled down to 'dadgum' this and 'dadgum' that. Given the offence that this elicited from his addressees, it's pretty clear that the language is meant to be offensive. Rob Paulsen was the voice of this feisty, but rarely seen, little rooster.
Furrball the Cat - Poor Furrball. He was frequently a background character, usually being somehow tortured by Elmyra. The cat with the worst luck ever. Occasionally featured chasing Sneezer, or, more rarely, Sweetie. Much like his predecessor, Sylvester, he doesn't have much luck in his pursuits, but unlike Sylvester, the English language seems to elude him. The multi-talented Frank Welker provided the voice effects for Furrball.
Mary Melody - A human, and a normal human on top of that - in Prom-ise her Anything she says to her prom date: 'I have got to transfer out of this school' after an odd dialogue with Gogo Dodo (well, to be fair, it was right on par for a dialogue with Gogo, but an odd dialogue by more normal standards). Very rarely featured, but voiced by Cree Summer.
